The Punch Out Technician is responsible for completing final service, adjustments, and minor repairs on installed Pella windows and doors to ensure products meet Pella’s quality standards and customer expectations. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical skill, and professionalism when working in occupied residential and light commercial environments.
Key Responsibilities
Perform punch-out and final service work on Pella windows and doors after installation
Diagnose and correct issues such as:
Window and door alignment
Sash and panel adjustments
Hardware adjustments or replacement
Weatherstripping repairs or replacement
Minor glass, screen, or trim corrections
Identify warranty vs. non-warranty issues and document findings accurately
Communicate clearly with homeowners, builders, and site supervisors regarding work performed
Maintain a clean and safe work area, especially in finished homes
Complete service tickets, photos, and reports accurately and on time
Follow all Pella installation and service guidelines and safety standards
Coordinate with service managers or dispatch for scheduling and parts needs
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience servicing or installing windows and doors (Pella experience preferred)
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
Ability to read service orders, installation guides, and technical documentation
Excellent attention to detail and quality control
Professional appearance and customer-service mindset
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work on ladders as needed
Skills/Knowledge
- AA or Technical degree preferred, High School Diploma with experience
- 4 -5 years construction experience with leading projects
- Prior knowledge of general construction applications and terminology and/or window and door applications or components is desirable but not required.

- Ability to Add, subtract, multiple, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Experience with Microsoft products to include: Excel, Word and Outlook and database and order processing products.
