At Pella Mid-Atlantic, we are passionate about what we do and the relationships we build along the way.  We’re looking for people who share that same passion, individuals who are motivated, design-minded, personable, and driven to help others succeed.  If you’re looking for a career that blends creativity, relationship-building, technical problem-solving, and professional growth within a collaborative and supportive culture, we invite you to experience what we call the Pella Passion!

About the Position:
The Architectural Representative serves as a trusted resource to the architectural and design community, building long-term relationships with architects, designers, and developers throughout an assigned territory.  This role blends design collaboration, technical problem-solving, relationship-building, and business development, allowing professionals to remain deeply connected to architecture without spending every day behind a desk.

Acting as a liaison between the design community and internal teams including Commercial and Trade Sales, Marketing, and Pella Corporation’s Architectural Solutions team (PAS), the Architectural Representative helps support projects from early design through execution.  Responsibilities include assisting teams with product specifications, drawing and detail reviews, technical guidance, continuing education presentations, and product application support to help ensure successful, well-executed projects that align with the original design intent.

This role is not traditional sales.  Our Architectural Representatives are the face of Pella within the design community and are trusted to represent the brand with integrity, professionalism, and genuine care for the client’s success.  We understand that not every project is a “Pella project,” and we respect that.  Our priority is building long-term relationships, serving as a reliable resource, and helping architects and designers make informed decisions that best support their projects.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys creativity, public engagement, networking, and helping others solve problems in real time.  It offers the opportunity to influence a diverse range of projects while working within a collaborative company culture that values professional growth, work-life balance, and genuine human connection.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an approachable, knowledgeable resource for clients by fostering genuine long-term relationships centered around trust, collaboration, and ongoing project support.
  • Collaborate directly with architects, designers, and developers to help bring projects to life through product discussions, drawing reviews, detailing support, and creative problem-solving throughout the design process to ensure Pella specifications.
  • Influence a wide variety of project types — from custom residential homes to large-scale commercial developments — while helping teams balance aesthetics, performance, constructability, and budget.
  • Serve as a trusted design resource by reviewing plans and specifications, identifying opportunities for improved performance or cost efficiency, and helping protect the original design intent leveraging Pella solutions.
  • Develop project specifications, including three-part architectural specifications and proprietary specification tools tailored to the residential and commercial design community.
  • Host AIA-accredited CEU presentations, Pella Lunch & Learns, and workshops.
  • Support internal relationship-building events for our clients to support specifier engagement.
  • Build long-term relationships with architects, interior designers, specifiers, general contractors, and industry organizations through ongoing collaboration, networking events, and project support.
  • Provide technical guidance on window and door systems, including performance criteria, product application, detailing strategies, energy efficiency, constructability, and code considerations.
  • Stay engaged in the architectural community by attending networking events, industry functions, trade organizations, and design-focused gatherings throughout the region.
  • Partner with internal Commercial, Trade, Marketing, and Architectural Solutions teams to support project development and create seamless client experiences from concept through execution.
  • Utilize Salesforce (CRM) to manage relationships, track project opportunities, coordinate project handoffs, and maintain organized account and pipeline activity.
  • Continuously expand your knowledge of architecture, construction trends, building codes, and competitive product offerings to better support the design community.
  • Utilize creativity, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills to identify opportunities, solve challenges, and exceed individual and team goals.
  • Participate in internal committees, industry organizations, trade shows, networking events, and community gatherings that support both company culture and Pella’s presence within the community.

Expectations:
  • Build meaningful relationships with architects, designers, contractors, and clients by providing an exceptional and genuinely supportive experience.
  • Consistently grow project opportunities, specifications, and market presence through relationship-building, technical expertise, and community engagement.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of projects and opportunities within Salesforce while supporting both individual and team growth goals.
  • Collaborate across departments to create seamless project experiences and contribute to the continued success of the company.
  • Represent Pella Mid-Atlantic with professionalism, integrity, accountability, and a strong commitment to doing what is best for the client and project.
  • Continue developing industry knowledge, communication skills, and technical expertise to better support the design community and strengthen long-term partnerships.

 Qualifications:
  • Background in architecture, interior design, construction, specification writing, building products, or relationship-driven business development preferred.  A degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus, but equivalent industry experience is also valued.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, construction documents, and product details with confidence and accuracy.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, constructability, detailing, and building code principles preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build trust and communicate effectively with architects, designers, contractors, clients, and internal teams.
  • Comfortable presenting to groups through CEUs, lunch-and-learns, networking events, and educational workshops.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically while helping clients solve design, performance, and budget-related challenges.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, relationships, and responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Travel regularly throughout the assigned territory, including driving to client meetings, networking events, jobsites, and Pella Mid-Atlantic showrooms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook required; familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM platforms is preferred.
  • Basic construction field knowledge, including familiarity with measurements, jobsite conditions, and architectural terminology.
  • Self-motivated, personable, and relationship-oriented with a genuine passion for design, problem-solving, and helping others succeed.

Competencies:
  • Professional, dependable, and relationship-driven with a strong sense of integrity and personal accountability.
  • Strong communicator and active listener who leads with empathy, collaboration, and genuine care for clients and coworkers.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with and take direction from senior leadership while contributing positively within a team-oriented, mentorship-driven environment.
  • Naturally curious and solution-oriented with a willingness to continuously learn, ask questions, and seek the best outcome for the project and team.
  • Confident and personable with the ability to build trust, engage diverse groups of people, and foster long-term professional relationships.
  • Self-motivated and organized with strong independent judgment, time-management skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Positive, resilient, and adaptable with enthusiasm to thrive in a fast-paced, relationship-focused environment.
  • Comfortable influencing conversations, presenting ideas, and guiding teams toward thoughtful, well-informed decisions while maintaining professionalism and respect.

Physical Requirements:
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull materials exceeding 50 lbs. using safe lifting practices.
  • Comfortably navigate jobsites, including stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and elevated conditions.
  • Occasionally work in active construction or warehouse environments that may involve varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, or other site-related conditions.
